This tribute gold-plated reproduction cameo proof gold coin is of the rare 1831 Octoganol California 65 dollar piece. The gold piece is a faithful replica of the original which goes for hundreds of thousands of dollars. The coin is actually bigger than the old silver dollars and is housed in a protective display case. When I photographed the coin I tried to capture the proof-like mirror surface.
