Beautiful antique gold locket circa 1880. Adorned with a white enamel cross on a black enamel background surrounded by the words "IN MEMORY OF" in gold. Reverse is intricately hand-chased with a ribbon design ready for engraving. Size is 28mm from top of bail to bottom of locket and is 20mm wide and weighs 6.61 grams. Patina on the inside and outside is appropriate for age of over 140 years. Inside the locket has glass surrounded by sturdy gold frames on both sides. Functional and snaps closed. No hallmarks or chain. This locket is from my personal collection; I am not a business.

arcticbrenda @thebeesknees16 I am not certain, but I found a locket for sale online that was very similar in design, which was 9ct. Please note that the glass on both sides are not broken, there are no major dents, and the locket snaps closed. For being around 150 years old, it is in very good condition. Most lockets for sale have only black enamel, whereas this one has black and white enamel. Thank you for looking in my closet and for your inquiry.
