This is the real deal!
14k gold-filled 1973 Pulsar P2, Serial # 11911. Before Casio and Texas Instruments flooded the world with plastic LED watches in the mid-1970s, the Pulsar was the original LED watch. It was featured in the 1973 James Bond movie LIVE AND LET DIE. Aficionados know that Roger Moore wore a silver stainless steel version of the Pulsar P2, probably because the retail price was just $275 at the time. But the 14k gold-filled version offered here was much more exclusive--and beautiful. At $2150, it was also nearly half the price of a new 1973 Corvette! Today, it will start conversations everywhere you go.
The watch is 51 years young, and features full original functionality. Press the button once, you see the time. Hold the button down, you see seconds ticking by. A James Bond-style process is used to set the time. Beneath the "P" logo on the watch bracelet, a secret compartment opens that holds a tiny magnet. With this magnet, you touch either MIN to set minutes, or HR to set the hour. The magnet alone activates the time change--no need to hold down the button.
There are many other versions of this watch out there. The parent company of Pulsar was Hamilton, and they reissued a 50th anniversary version of this watch marked "Hamilton" instead of "Pulsar". Other versions have "Pulsar" on the red face, and there are other shapes and bracelets. But if you want authentic 70s originality, this is it!
