Rare, commemorative dinner plate by Wedgwood of England *Cobalt blue, transferware *9" diameter *Embossed hallmark *Commemorative plate for the American Revolution (I wonder what the people creating this must have thought...) *Battle Green, Lexington, Sargent John Parker *Reads: "Stand your ground. Don't fire unless fired upon. But if they mean to have a war, let it begin here." Condition: Very good antique, minimal cosmetic flaws, a small nick in the glaze on the back, delicate crazing throughout both sides (close-up shots show what to expect, tough to capture, as it's a light, fine netting).
