Beautiful and rare set of 8 low sherbet crystal glasses by Morgantown Glass Works, from the 1920s.
Morgantown Glass Works operated in Morgantown, West Virginia, from 1900 to early 1970s, and was one of the glass companies producing fancy glass (requiring hand work) in the 1920s and 1930s, also called “Elegant Glass” (as opposed to Depression Glass, which was mass produced).
The Mayfair pattern is one of their most popular, recognizable by their lady leg stems and flared bowls, and by their early Art Deco etched decor of groupings of three flower urns connected by scrolls and swags at the base.
Excellent antique condition, no chip or other issue.
Dimensions: total height 4” ⅜.
Diameter of the bowl: 4” 1/16.
