Rare vintage necklace from designer Guiliano Fratti, Milan. Faux pearl multi strand with rhinestones. Clasp is secure. Signed GM. This is a vintage piece that shows signs of wear, priced for rare vintage. Some light flaking from red threaded beads. A miniature mannequin is used for photos. Italian designer Giuliano Fratti, who created pieces for haute couture houses such as Dior and Chanel during this era, and later Pierre Cardin. Giuliano Fratti (1906-1992) of Italy began producing buttons, buckles and belts in Milan circa 1930s-1940s. In the '50s he began creating jewels for Dior, Chanel, Worth and later in the '60s, for Pierre Cardin. He relocated to to New York in the 1950s where he continued to produce under his own name using his stylized stamp: "GM" within a circle.
