This gem is a large 1 and a half inches wide and half an inch thick. The photo of the ruby sitting on a light shows the intensity of the color. This gem is beautiful for making rings, bracelets, and earrings.

@meerkatmonsta I did have a jeweler look at it and he stated that it is the biggest ruby he has come across….if that helps 😊

lol lol lol … jewelers seem to know nothing about rubies, it’s frustrating lmao. & is ur price accurate?

meerkatmonsta
It’s not transparent at all so it’s commercial grade at best, still worth something tho obV. Is the lighting pic one that is accurate?

beckyboo70
@meerkatmonsta it is accurate and I understand what you’re saying about jewelers lol….I also have emeralds and sapphire

Also, r u sure this isn’t garnet?
Oct 21Reply

beckyboo70
@meerkatmonsta No, this isn’t garnet…garnet is found in a round shape and it’s a heavier gem. This is most definitely a ruby
Oct 21Reply

beckyboo70
@meerkatmonsta I don’t know about red beryl
Oct 21Reply

beckyboo70
@meerkatmonsta I looked it up and Red Beryl is only found in Utah and Mexico….My ruby was found in Franklin NC 😊

lol lol no no, that’s not a red beryl. Red beryls are extremely rare. I have one. Red Beryls are more pink. Ur rock is just more purple so I was thinking it might be garnet, but there are rubies of purple color. BUT garnets are actually found in Crystal formations, not in round formations

@meerkatmonsta garnets form in a round form and they’re heavy. If it’s in a crystal formation, someone polished it to look like that. My daughter is an expert in precious gems. The ruby looks purple in the photo because it’s a rough ruby. A rough ruby can look deep red to purplish in color, depending on how dark the ruby is. 😊
