The 9870’s leather is created at Red Wing‘s own tannery in Red Wing, Minnesota, and is a fully finished smooth-grain leather. The brown base shows through with wear and tear, while the treated leather keeps the boot water, stain, and perspiration resistant. By eliminating a seam by using one larger piece of leather verses two smaller pieces, Red Wing was able to provide a tougher, more durable boot. Durable and well-designed, the Round Toe combines the comfort of an oxford with the strength of a work boot in a style that dates back almost a century.
