They do not have tread break down, leather is in excellent condition, and they are like new even with the original box and extra set of black laces! I was unable to return them because I waited too long but they’re great shoes and I just couldn’t break them in since they’re so tight for me. These boots come with the original Red Wing shoe box and an extra set of black laces that I got with them at the time of purchase from the Red Wing store. The shoes were worn walking on a construction site/power plant which is why they show dirt, but they were not worked in as I am not in a trade.
