Unfortunately, this isn't sterling. The "EPNS" mark stands for "electro-plated nickel silver." (It's silverplated.)

I should have read the listing more carefully - seeing the word "sterling" used, when the item isn't sterling & is, in fact, silver-plate, confused me!
