The Wall Street Journal had this to say about her: "Born in Poland and displaced by the chaos of World War II, Rena Rowan ended up in Philadelphia in the mid-1940s, had four children and began designing clothing to support them. She became one of the highest-paid women in the U.S. as the lead designer at Jones Apparel Group, a maker of midprice working apparel for women that thrived in the 1990s."
