basketpam Is this for a sweater or a turtleneck, often worn under sweaters? My mother often calls turtlenecks "sweaters" even though they're not and I think there is something else she does too but can't think of it at the moment. I think others call things sweaters too which I don't so I want to make sure.

basketpam That's good its a mock turtleneck. I'm sure my brother will like that better. I'm looking for a simple navy blue turtleneck to replace the one my mom ruined with bleach the other day. My brother and now just my mom live in adjoining houses. They built new about 15 years ago with what my folks need just on one floor. They're separate but yet together. Anyway, when my dad died 4 months ago my mom went from very mild dementia to severe in a couple weeks. cont'd....

basketpam It's been diagnosed as behavioral adjustment disorder. She's living one foot in this world, one foot in another (the past) because she can NOT accept my dad died. (married 61 years). She got over on his side to his laundry rm. on 2nd floor. She used to be perfect w/laundry. Not now. She added bleach to a dark load. The navy turtleneck I think was the only thing he was a bit upset about. The rest were farm clothes. So I don't want a sweater, just a cotton turtleneck.

basketpam My mom used to call plain old turtlenecks (which I wear a LOT under sweaters) so I never know when someone says sweater (and dark colors never show well on this site, I can't see details). But what I REALLY need to know, is it a knitted sweater or a turtleneck which are often worn under sweaters? Could this be worn under a sweater? Maybe that's the best way to ask.
