@crickettp I am! I've worked with a wide variety of folks, but right now I'm specializing in dual diagnosis substance abuse. What kind of counseling do you want to do? I'm a social worker first and above all, taking care of others holistically is my top priority.

@mxdeebear i’m actually already rostered as a licensed psychotherapist so I was in a clinical position in my past job. I was considered a same-day access clinician where I did assessments and collaborative network approach counseling. However, they put me in that position very prematurely and so I am no longer there. Community mental health really took a lot out of me so I’m not sure exactly what I want to specialize in. I know that I want to work with trauma and also with substance-abuse.

@crickettp are you enjoying grad school? I LOVED it! I rly want to go back and get my PsyD, but my wife says it's too expensive rt now. 😞 Maybe next year! Sounds like you would like the job I'm doing now as a sub. My actual job is on hold (long story) so rt now I'm filling in at a rehab for unhoused women. It's been great and I'd love to stay if I didn't already have a job, 😂.

@mxdeebear doctoral work is super hard and too many more years for me. I just took a term off to get my head on straight went through a lot this year. I was thinking about doing a mental health share show, but I think that might be too weird.

@crickettp i only do mental heath share shows so i guess that makes me super weird! 🤣🤣🤣 But a PsyD is only a 2yr program so loads shorter than a PhD, I have no desire to teach again, my first career was education. I already have a master's in Special Ed and worked in public ed for 14yrs. Now I work for a non-profit if only the pay was as good!

@mxdeebear so you actually incorporate mental health into your show? I met another person who was in there internship and ask them if they wanted to cohost a mental health show but they thought it might be a conflict or there might be some ethical thing. But I think it’s especially because so many people on this platform is struggling with their own issues.
