zoohop @uggseeker my memories of the 80’s was HB riot at OP open in 86 and Scott Farnsworth who was hometown local surfing when the waves were touching the bottom of the pier.

uggseeker I remember “Barnsworth” lol. Brad Gerlach was in a class of mine. And I remember the riot. That’s when they started break dancing under the pier. Then there was Lake Street and Jack in the box. I’ve almost bled out in the life guard station at the bottom of the hill on lake street

uggseeker Idk what it was but I grabbed my board after a wave, went to pivot on my left foot amd something cut me, it cut every muscle in that foot. When I pull my foot out of the water I saw the bone. Lifeguard made me walk up there to tower 3.

zoohop @uggseeker yes I remember Brad also. Good memories huh? You must be in your 50’s like me. I’m 53. The riot was fun. I remember all the commotion going on and next thing you know it we all got pushed down Main Street by riot gear cops.

uggseeker @zoohop did you play baseball by chance? I did, a lot and often. Played for Huntington, my friends were pissed I went to Huntington vs Ocean View. I lived off main& Ellis off Damion lane which was right on the boundary so I got to choose. I bailed on everyone and went to the better school for my interests. Never made the surf team tho lol
