Fine-looking, expertly tailored robe known as a ladies dressing gown. Made in England, probably in the 1980's. Cut in a feminine, curved, wide sweep style. Made for Strawbridge & Clothier, a family-owned Philadelphia department store (in operation 1868 --1996) Excellent+ condition. No holes, tears, worn spots, marks, stains, or any other negatives. A vintage model, but has no indication of wear inside or out. Size and fabric content labels clipped, but this is Viyella, a blend of 55% merino wool and 45% long staple cotton. Produced from 1893 to the 1990's, Viyella revolutionized garment manufacturing. It was lightweight, soft to the hand, and warm yet breathable. It took dyes beautifully, never shrunk and seemingly never wore out.
