Lotte Benter designed 'Amager Girl Knitting' for Royal Copenhagen, Denmark. From what I have read, the Danish word 'Amager' refers to an the largest populated island of Denmark. Although the production of this knitting girl started earlier, the sculpture shown is from the 1960s. Each figurine of this girl is handmade which results in subtle variances in each. This piece has no chips, cracks, crazing or damage in general plus it is very clean. She measures approximately 5.75" tall x 3.75" wide & is 3.75" depth or thick
The figurine has been manufactured in a limited number of pieces and as a warranty of authenticity is featured with the Royal Copenhagen trademark, the Crown above the three wavy lines and the painter's initials. The trademark underneath the base varies according to the manufacturing period and from this can be deducted the year when the figurine was manufactured.
I think this figurine was from 1964 b ased on the line under the letter p. It is in excellent condition. No chips at all
