Limited Edition #505 Royal Doulton Character Jug - "Captain James Cook" D7077. Jug is approximately 6.5" tall and was produced during the period 1996, and is limited edition #505 of 2,500. Capt Cook dons a naval uniform and cap with yellow trim and gold buttons. Designed by William K. Harper. In a striking tribute to the famous navigator and explorer, this character jug incorporates a first-ever feature in it’s handle: a working compass. This jug was issued by Lawleys By Post in a limited edition of 2,500 to commemorate the life and time of Captain Cook (1728 – 1779). All photos are mine and are of the actual item.
