Soft shoulder area cloth makes it super nice to touch but with main torso and back area a rugged nylon keeping it durable. Smart design includes a lower back zippered pocket, two soft lined zip front pockets, interior pockets are incredibly handy one zippered with an easy pull zip, the other inside deep breast pocket perfect for a phone. One of the interior pockets has a port for wired earbuds (and even a earphone hanger clip). The dark green color works with every outfit, especially with jeans. It is a large and would fit someone 185-220 lbs. This is one of the nicest vests I've seen. Royal Robbins got it right on this one.
