I'm a size small/medium, but the skirt area of this dress did feel snug around my butt/hips. You don't have to be a twig to wear it, but if you consider yourself a more curvy size small in your hip/butt area, just keep in mind the skirt area might be snug. For me, this just meant it sat a little higher.
