Ruth E Saltz Vintage Cougar Head Bag

This purse is so classy! It is a taupe suede (photo on a tan faux fur distinguished between tan and taupe) snap opening bag with an impeccable silk lining. Some refer to Tiger head vs Cougar. The authentic chain doubles for arm carrying or it hangs from the shoulder. This is unique in that a textured patent leather tab runs vertically under the Cougar Head. This bag has a more silver than gold chain. It may be from age. The only areas to declare are the slight green discoloration where the metal rubbed on the suede. However, only seen from the top and not from front or back. Purse (that’s what they were called in the 60’s!) measures 8.24” x 10” laying flat. Doubled chain measures 22”. Single chain is 36”. The chain runs horizontal to bag opening when not doubled. Very nice piece!
