Posh doesn't know what it is doing. On Oct. 3 they "decreased" seller fees by essentially splitting the former 20% fee they had charged sellers exclusively between the seller & buyer. A lot of sellers were upset- it slowed sales. I'm a regular person; my sales are always slow, zero to four items a month. No matter how many new items I list. The change meant I could accept significantly lower offers on expensive items in my closet. I was excited to be able to do that. I priced stuff & sent offers on expensive items that factored that in. Posh got a lot of pushback & is now reverting. Buyers fees will disappear as of 10.24. Supposedly Posh will "rebate" sellers the delta between what they keep from a sale under the reinstated 20% commission & what they would have received under the Oct. 3 - 23 fee structure (i.e. seller kept quite a bit more on items above a certain price) IF the item was listed/edited during the Oct.3-23 period AND it is purchased via "buy now" Oct. 24- 27. So seller gets to keep more of the selling price but buyer does NOT have to pay buyer fee. To try to offer the lower prices & recoup the same amount as I would at much higher prices once Oct.28 is here, I'm dropping prices on a bunch of higher priced items Friday- Sunday. Prices will revert on or about Monday 10.28.2024. If you want something, I'm more likely to sell for lower this weekend than I will be after.
