leila_angel @holland75 aloha! Can you educate me on what this means?

holland75 @leila_angel of course. Poshmark had a AANHPI “party” to promote brands from people of colors, specifically Asian Americans, Pacific Islanders, and native Hawaiians. So, I tried to share local brands owned and operated by AANHPI people and they were unshareable. As in, Posh (or their hosts) didn’t even bother to list native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander, and Asian American brands.

leila_angel @holland75 oh my! Thank you for sharing that information. It makes me think twice of supporting a site that excludes Asians, Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders!

stefanies23 What a bummer! Have you tried emailing Poshmark to suggest additions to the brand list? I’m sure they’d welcome the feedback! Try writing to hosting@poshmark.com - I have found them helpful and responsive when it comes to posh party questions - we would all love to give these designers more exposure!

holland75 @leila_angel @stefanies23 the annoying thing is that these aren’t obscure, small companies. They’re very well known and well established. Posh should’ve known before throwing the AANHPI label around. Like, it would have taken 20 seconds to google Native Hawaiian designers 😤

stefanies23 @holland75 I totally understand the frustration - it was a huge oversight for sure - I‘m sure they will be grateful that you let them know and I look forward to seeing the situation remedied! They tend to cycle the party themes every 11 days or so, so I’ll be on the lookout for next time!

leila_angel @holland75 mahalo for the information! I support Hawai’i local designers, we’ve had so many NH designers who were featured at NY Fashion week (hard to miss). I will email poshmark and educate them on the mo’olelo of Hawaiian designers. I love what Manaola says “To protect, cultivate and sustain indigenous culture through purpose driven practices”.
