I'm not sure if that's a part of the bag's original style or if it's possible wear from the previous owner (a Posher who listed the bag as new). It's kinda hard to tell. However, somehow it gives the leather of the bag a very vintage look. It's nice! I've never worn/used the bag except to try it on but decided it wasn't for me afterall. The bag looks VERY new.
