SOLD SOLD SOLD “Excellent - Antique Edwardian Sterling Silver and Alligator Leather covered crystal hip flask.” English George V sterling silver and Alligator leather flask by James Dixon and Sons, Sheffield. 1. Clear glass body. 2. The top half is encased in Alligator leather with cutout windows. 3. Detachable sterling silver cup. 4. Short straight neck with hinged and cork-lined bayonet cover. 5. Fully matching marks. Specifications/Weight: A. Sterling Silver Cup: 94.02 gr/3.02 Troy Oz B. Sterling Silver Cap: 64.26 gr/2.06 Troy Oz C. H: 6.4" (16.25cm) x W 3 1/4" (8.25cm) Depth: 1.25"/3.17 The Sterling silver cup and twist cap are in excellent condition. No dents, chips, or cracks in the crystal container or the detachable sterling silver cup or cover. Wear the alligator leather; occasional minor scratches are consistent with the flask's age and use. Importantly, the sterling silver cup and cover have matching hallmarks indicating James Dixon & Sons, Sheffield, with this specific hallmark entered in Sheffield Assay Office on August 13, 1867. Many similar flasks do not have matching hallmarks on the cup and cover.
