Black suede and leather though leather is not a very soft leather. I was told bag was real leather when I purchased Resembles Celine style bags, NO BRAND NAME!! The side tassels can be tucked in bag or left out This purse is a larger purse and not a structured bag, therefore the insert included helps the purse maintain shape. The insert can be removed and used without the insert as well. The widest part of the purse is approximately 18"-19" towards tops, strap drop around 9.5".
