lilly_2424 Hello! When was this watch purchased?
Sep 23Reply
larisarose
larisarose @lilly_2424 it was manufactured between 1970-1979 and purchased by my grandmother. I modernized it with a Cartier makeover :) got it all fixed up and spiffy for 2020.

margiaz This is a manual wind?

larisarose
larisarose @margiaz yup. Keeps exact time after being wound for about 36 hours or so.

mikokale1 Hi, I've very interested in your piece! So, if I understand correctly, it's running in tip top shape? Also, is the alligator strap in good shape? It's hard to tell from photos.

larisarose @mikokale1 hi - yes sharp is great. It was brand new and then I wore it for a few months but there’s no wear and tear. Also the deployment buckle preserves the strap better than a traditional clasp because the strap doesn’t get tugged when you close the watch.

mikokale1 Very true, I have a deployment on my Tank Solo and it holds very well. How negotiable on price are you?

mikokale1 Also, don't mean to be a bother, but how is the condition of the bezel of the watch? Are there a lot of scratches?
Sep 23Reply
larisarose
larisarose @mikokale1 there aren’t - it was polished. You’re not a bother. I’m more flexible on $ on other platforms (like the one that’s been around longest and starts with an e and ends with a bay)

mikokale1 Gotcha ;) Well thank you for answering all of my questions! There's no denying that you have a gorgeous piece in your hands but unfortunately, I'm looking for a Cartier with a solid 18k gold case as my next purchase at this time.

larisarose @mikokale1 yes! Solid gold is THE gold standard - lol! I want that too and I’ve seen some here and there that can be a few grand, if you look often and all around! Good luck.

mikokale1 @larisarose Haha well said! My dream watch would be a Vintage Cartier Tank Louis 18k gold case, either manual or automatic, haven’t decided yet. I’ve definitely seen a few on here as well as other watch sites but I need to start putting in the savings for it. Anyways, good luck selling your watch! I’m sorry it didn’t work out this time but I’m sure you’ll find someone interested in no time :)

larisarose @mikokale1 thanks :)) yeah, you’ll find one. My thinking is that my watch is a great compromise bc I spent almost $1.5K on just getting it upgraded... the service on these watches is a lot (plus then all the accessories), and after all is said and done, a vintage watch can quickly become nearly as pricey as the newer models, since they’re often hard to find in tip top shape. So then you sink a few grand into it anyway, and then you might as well buy a $6K new one (which just feels cray)

mikokale1 I completely agree with you, no doubt this sort of luxury item costs a small fortune, especially the vintage pieces since they usually need an upgrade to a current age haha :D But the way I see it is, it's an item which not only will be an investment one day, but it can be passed down to future generations. Of course, many prefer the new tech gadgets like the Apple Watch but hopefully there will still be a few watch fanatics who respect a good vintage Cartier when they see one :)

margiaz What size wrist does the band fit and is it adjustable??
Oct 02Reply
larisarose
larisarose @margiaz it’s adjustable since it’s a deployment strap. It can fit a small to x large wrist. That’s the beauty of the deployment clasp. I happen to have an extra long strap on it so it’s very flexible in the size it fits. I’m a small but my husband can put this on comfortably too.

podle @larisarose Hi ! I’m interested. I actually had this watch a few years ago that I purchased through RealReal. I ended up returning it but have regretted it every since. The other platform you were talking about I have visited. I’ve never bought from that platform so do I make an offer through it?
