This gorgeous jacket was sewn from a men's pure gold and silk brocade wedding dhoti from Rajasthan in 1990. It has been flawlessly crafted by the loving hand of a Tucson artist , and is the only one of its kind. She found the dhoti in a fabric shop that was attached to a factory where they made thread from pure gold. The gold in this fabric is indeed that pure gold thread, woven with black silk.
