briansautumn @kittycromwells I wear L/XL. So I measured from shoulder to shoulder, around back over chest, the under armpit to armpit etc. that’s when the numbers don’t match up for the jacket and the purple shirt. I might be going something wrong.

kittycromwells @briansautumn Yes, this jacket and all but that crazy Bob Mackie number are mine. I wear a 14ish and this jacket is only a bit snug in the upper arms. That is not unusual for me though and being linen it would have stretched. I just never got around to wearing it. The more narrow silloutte with the cut of the bodice and not too much gathering is really flattering. Why dont you wait til the linen jacket arrives and make a decision then? The blue linen is cut just a tad looser.

kittycromwells @briansautumn Dressmaker hazard. Shoulders are sleeve seam to sleeve seam across the back and I note drop shoulders. I measure all the way around the garment, like on a size chart picture. A lot of Poshers just measure armpit to armpit and it might be less confusing if I just start to do that. Does that help? With the arrival of your two hats, I'll need to get another '60s wigbox for storage!

kittycromwells @briansautumn If you meant the Sun Kim top, the measurement of the sleeve from shoulder to armpit is 10.5" in length or 21" all the way around. The sleeves are more set-in than dolman. I have 3 more of this top. The plum/purple just isn't flattering color for me. Be sure to check the length, it might be too cropped.

briansautumn @kittycromwells thank you for the advise and got the lesson. I’ve been buying hat boxes from Amazon that hold many hats by HappiBox. They are 16” wide and hold 6-10 hats. Really nice.
