The tag indicates 100% cotton, which the outer is, but the inner feels like some kind of soft silk organza/habotai, hard to describe. Please note this is an IT38. Zippered entry on the left, the lining and the top have their own zippers. I put this down as an XXS/XS because the lining has quite a small underbust. I don't recommend this if you have an underbust larger than 27.5 inches. This dress is also special because much of it is constructed by hand. It is in very good wearable condition. A great piece you don't have to be too precious about. It is a cotton gauze so there are some points of attachment where there is wear, most noticeable where part of that underbust drapey piece attaches to the front of the bust. This can easily be remedied by sewing part of the drapey piece just above the exposed front, or you can leave as it. I would ask a tailor about reinforcing it to ensure many more years of wear with the dress. There are two marks on the fabric that I noticed, a small lightened yellow part on the bottom back about the size of my thumbnail. It's not actually really noticeable when worn though. There are two very pale blue marks on the bottom of the drapey piece on the front of the dress and just next to it that are covered by the drapey piece when the dress is worn.
