joanwyoung Thanks to you all for your prayers and good wishes. I know that without them I would have been much worse off than I was. The surgery was longer and a great deal more involved than I expected going into it. The extent of the surgery combined with some pretty hellish experiences during my week-long hospital stay have made this a very slow, excrutiating recovery so far. I am still in a great deal of pain and my mobility is still very restricted because of the pain of my poor abused muscles and tendons trying to hold my head up. I have virtually no voice yet because of the trauma to my vocal chords. I go in for my first post-op appointment tomorrow to get the staples removed from my neck and back, and to see the xrays that will explain the six-inch incision at the back for the repair of a single disk. This is going to be by far one of my most painful and slow recoveries to date, second only to my hip replacement. I still covet your prayers for a quick resolution to the pain so that I can truly begin my recovery. Thanks so much for thinking about me!

joanwyoung @justme29 You're very welcome! And thanks for returning the favor! :) Recovery is very slow but I'm getting there. Six weeks out of surgery and still not able to drive and some serious muscle spasms in my neck and shoulders, but, as I said, I'm getting there. :-) Thanks!
