Saddle Blanket / Rug Handwoven in Mexico Acryllic "Gem Stone" Zapotec Style

This 30"x60" rug was purchased in Tijuana over 25 years ago for use as a saddle Blanket, but it was never used. It has some fading on the sides at the middle, but otherwise the colors are bold and beautiful. The weave is dense, making the textile somewhat thick and stiff. It is very similar in weave and construction to the woolen Zapotec Indian blankets, but the design on this one is more of a Chimayo replica design. Note: I have three other saddle blankets that are very similar to this one,but the colors and patterns vary a little. Feel free to reach out if you don't see them listed here.
