Santa Anita Ware Flowers of Hawaii Dishes *RARE* Monstera Pattern OBO

Beautiful set of 16 Santa Anita Ware pieces from the series of Flowers of Hawaii, produced in the late 40s-early 50s. This pattern is the Monstera Leaves, that was copyrighted in 1949. This set includes 4 of each piece: Dinner Plate, Bread & Butter Plate, Flat Cups, and Saucers. Santa Anita Ware's "Flowers of Hawaii" line was popular in the 1950s. The dinnerware, made in Los Angeles, featured nine different designs depicting Hawaii flora This is the rarer monstera leaf pattern. Santa Anita ceramics began in 1939 and was in business through the early 60s. The company was known for its midcentury modern "drip glaze" ashtrays as well as the Hawaii-themed tableware. The large floral designs were done in a transfer process rather than hand-painted, thus keeping the line relatively affordable. Diameter Dinner Plates 10.5" Bread & Butter Plates 6.5" Cup Saucers 6" Flat Cup Rim 3.5" All these plates have firing marks on the bottom glaze, some small imperfections in transfer images (especially on cup saucers).
