This design was based on the amazing jewelry looks that Harry Winston created in the 1940’s & 50's for well-known celebrities, such as Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor, Jacqueline Kennedy, British Royalty, etc. Harry Winston is known as "The King of Diamonds". The beautiful face of the ring measures approximately 5/8 tall X 3/4” wide and is set with 16 spinel baguettes in a deep sapphire blue color. Spinel is a semi-precious, natural mineral that has a hardness scale of 8 (real diamonds are a 10). Spinel minerals are isometric oxides composed of iron, zinc, magnesium, and trace elements which give them their destined coloring. This cobalt blue color is the rarest color of all. The round halo of 16 spinel baguettes frame in a 5mm / half-carat round synthetic “diamond” in the center, which is set in a beaded bezel. There are also 2 more spinel baguettes on each side of the ring and the whole design is framed by a halo border of just under 60 tiny round synthetic “diamonds”.
