We would often receive duplicate issues, or at some point, the collection needed to be weeded...but these, I kept. Of all the covers in this bunch, it was Yahoo! Internet Life (photo 11) that really struck me back then. Using just two stark lines, it captured a moment in the zeitgeist, when cellphones were not yet proliferate and when most phone service was down, e-mail was that last-ditch attempt to which so many people turned, just to get *any* word to, and if lucky, from, their loved ones. I had so many e-mails just like it.
