The zippers are heavy duty and in normal working condition. The smaller shoulder bag can fit comfortable in the larger suitcase for easy storage. The large suitcase has three compartments. The main, middle compartment unzips so that the two sides can lay flat next to each other. The straps inside are a bit stretched out. This is a really cool, unique vintage set.
