Fostoria was a leading producer of elegant glass. The company had more than 1,000 patterns, including many designed by George Sakier. Fostoria originally made hand-crafted stemware with detailed patterns. In 1924, the company began focusing on colored glass, mainly pastels. They switched to deeper colors in the 1930s. The Virginia Dark Blue pattern by Fostoria was discontinued between 1980 and 1986.
