Set of 8 antique sterling silver handle stainless blade knives in 2 sizes by Gorham in the Medici Old pattern. Monogram appears to be P Gorham's Medici Old is a multi motif pattern designed in 1880. Named for the time of Lorenzo de Medici, the pattern depicts scenes of social and intellectual life from the Italian court of the 15th Century. These Old French hollow knives with bolsters are two different sizes. The style of the Gorham hallmark indicates manufacture in the last quarter of the 19th Century. 4 knives measure approx 9 3/8" long, 3/4" wide across blade, 3 knives measure approx 8 5/8" long, 3/4" wide across blade. Weighs approx 569g, 366dwt total. Marked lion anchor G STERLING on the handles, marked STAINLESS on the blades. Very nice condition with some slight scratches and mild tarnish.
