Set of Two (2) Franciscan Desert Rose Cups and Saucers

These two (2) sets of Franciscan Desert Rose six-ounce cups and saucers have been little, if ever, used. They're in great condition! The cups measure 5" across from the edge of the bowl to the edge of the handle and 2" across the base. The saucers measure 5¾" across the rim. As shown in the photos, the pieces have the backstamp from American production in the 1950s and 1960s. The inspiration for Franciscan's Desert Rose dinnerware has been attributed to Annette Honeywell, a California freelance artist. Based on Honeywell's designs, Franciscan artist Mary Winans modeled the Desert Rose tableware design that would go on to be touted as "the most popular pattern ever made in America."
