Shapes of Clay by Stan

Stan Langwait was a sculptor living on the sides of Mt Rainier in the sixties. when Mt St. Helens erupted in 1980, he moved his shop to that mountain to use the newer deposits of ash. this piece is from his newer works. Usually, Stan marked his pieces by signing them Stan on the reverse side. this is from a special collection of his dedicated to the endangered species of the Pacific Northwest. as an avid collector of his work, I wanted something of that series especially. if you look at the reverse side, it has every tag and information that guarantees authenticity. Vintage wise it's post 1980.... Mt St Helens ash.
