The Queen Anne Mansion was built in 1891 for Curtis Wright, who made his fortune in the furniture manufacturing industry in Indiana, and later through mining investments in Missouri. Wright paid $21,500 for this beautiful three story house and decorated the interior lavishly with fine quality woods acquired through his furniture company. There are 2000 hand-chiseled stones on the exterior of the mansion, stained glass windows and seven fireplaces. The mansion was later purchased by the Evans family in 1984 whose extensive restoration procedure moved the house from Carthage Missouri to Eureka Springs, Arkansas. The dismantling started in May 1984 with the first pieces of the home arriving in Eureka Springs in October 1984.
The move required 37 lowboy trailers and 3 storage vans. Gently pre-loved, see all photos for reference.
