The Pink Lady was built as a wedding present from William Carson, lumber baron and builder of the Carson mansion, to his son, Milton, in 1889. This is considered to be one of the finest examples of Queen Anne Victorian architecture in the United States. Constructed of redwood, inside and out, it displays the full range of structural and ornamental features associated with that style: onion-domed tower, multiple gables, shingled panels and Eastlake decorative touches to name just a few.
