Show stopping Sherri Hill Couture Mermaid Ruffle Gown. As seen on Miss Alabama, this strapless velvet ruffle gown will turn heads. I am devastated to sell it, but Im moving soon and will no longer have the space. Alterations: I’m not the original owner of this gown, and am 5’2 so it was too long. I didn’t want to shorten the train so my amazing tailor essentially folded where the velvet and ruffle materials meet about 3 inches and sewed it on the inside of the skirt. This allowed for the ruffles to fall just above my knee. This was a temporary alteration and can be 100% undone by cutting the stitches with a seam ripper. I added photo’s to show this alteration. Because of these alterations, it will currently fit someone 5’2 with 5 inch heels and just have it brush the floor. Damages: Some ruffles are missing but is difficult to notice when the dress is worn since there are so many ruffles. There’s also a hole on the first layer of the train however should be an easy fix for a tailor since it’s only one layer (pictured). The seam has also come slightly undone around around the bust area but is small and can be fixed with a couple stitches. Couture size 6 which is around a size 2. I’m a size 2 and it fits perfectly. Could fit a size 0 as well with some alterations.
