AZAZ in the Israel room at the Kennedy Memorial Center for the performing arts, Washington DC, signed and numbered 116/250 & 188/250. Acrylic are It 4” x 4”. Azaz (Born 1928-died 2008) is know for his ceramic and Wood art mediums. Carving large wood sculptures has been a main area of Azaz's career from his earliest sculpting period. His largest wooden piece, named “Old Testament Musical Instruments” is a a 323 square foot carved walnut wall gifted by the State of Israel to the Kennedy Memorial Center for the performing arts, Washington DC. There are several other carved wood pieces that are located in several public institutions in Israel. These acrylic Pieces are an depiction of his wood instruments.
