Signed Mid Century Italian Deruta Majolica Pierced Pedestal Dish w/ Floral Lid

Signed Mid-century Italian Deruta Majolica (Maiolica) pedestal dish with floral lid. This piece is so pretty! The bottom of the pedestal dish has a pale teal base coat with geometric shaped piercings outlined in a deeper teal. The lid must be seen to truly appreciate the complexity of the glaze colors! The background glaze of the foliage is a deep teal layered with greens and blues. The rich green-blue background glazes allow the vibrant color of the flowers to become the focal point. Each flower is hand painted in beautiful shades of reds, blues, yellows, and white. This is a wonderful piece for any collector of Italian pottery! The dish and lid are in very good vintage condition with no major flaws noted. There is some slight wear to the bottom of the base from normal usage, but it is very minor. It is a gorgeous piece!
