OLD HOLLYWOOD NOSTALGIA: PHOTOGRAPHER SIGNED ORIGINAL B/W PHOTO ON HEAVY STOCK, STAR OF SILVER SCREEN and OPERA STAGE, MARTA EGGERTH, STUDIO PORTRAIT PHOTO BY FAMOUS PHOTOG ROMAN FREULICH, 1936, UNIVERSAL PICTURES Freulich took one of the most iconic shots in Hollywood history.  He photographed Elsa Lanchester as the Bride of Frankenstein. There are other poses of Marta Eggerth wearing this striped dress from this session with Universal Studio Photographer, Roman Freulich, but I have been unable to find this pose elsewhere. ABOUT THE ACTRESS:  Grand opera and screen star, Hungarian singing star Marta Eggerth was hailed as 'the Maria Callas of operetta”.  She starred with Judy Garland in Me and My Gal and was under contract to Universal Pictures in the 1930s. ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER:  Roman Freulich (1898–1974) was known for his movie stills and glamour shots.  His work has been published in the book “Forty Years in Hollywood”.  13 3/4” x 10 3/4” Condition: No remarkable issues.
