It is 38 inches from the hook at the end to the first circle at the end. There is a total of 6 inches of the circles at the end before the short length of smaller chain. So the 6 inches of circles adds to the total length of useable belt size. I hope that helps! Feel free to ask any other questions.

I will add some photos with a tape measure so you can get a better idea. 38 is minimum I would say 44 max.
