'Sinkin Spells, Hot Flashes, Fits and Cravins' Collectible Cookbook

For sale is a 1988 spiral bound collectible of 'Sinkin Spells, Hot Flashes, Fits and Cravens' by Ernest Matthew Mickler, author of 'White Trash Cooking. It is his second and last book. Its main focus is Southern/Southeastern cooking of a different time,cbut it's also a flavorful history & folklore w/rich photography centering around familiar gatherings, from funerals and wakes to picnics, hog roasts, prayer meetings and quilting. Good used condition with normal signs of use and age. No rips, marks or missing pages. Out of print, but not completely gone, just reinvented & renamed 'White Trash Cooking II.' But 'Sinkin' exactly as Mickler created it is gone. 'Sinkin' has been described as "more intimate and idiosyncratic" than his wildly successful 'White Trash Cooking.' Mickler worked on 'Sinkin' hurriedly and passionately, knowing it would be his last, and died one day after it hit bookstores. He was 48. ** 'White Trash Cooking' is still available new, and inexpensive used copies can easily be found. I have a First Edition by Ten Speed Press that will never be for sale.
