Six Nations Mohawk Elda Muriel Smith (1918 – 1976) Studio Art Pottery Bowl Handmade Handmade and signed by Elda Muriel Smith (1918 – 1976) one of the founders of the Mohawk Pottery. This bowl has a deep well with sloped sides, brown glaze on outside and blue inside. The rim is decorated in three different patterns worked into the clay in white. The underside has something written in Mohawk that I cannot accurately translate. It is an exceptional piece of handmade pottery full of life and deeply soulful. You could of course use as a serving bowl or display with other art pottery. Signed EMS (Elda Muriel Smith) Branded SN (Six Nations) Height 3" Across mouth 7.5" Across base 3.75" Condition: Excellent with no known flaws.
