Size M Speechless ribbed pinafore dress

Bought it a few years ago and was obsessed, but was just never able to find something to match it with. I've never actually worn it outside. It's not stretchy, so it's hard to layer. I probably should have gone a size up. I'm not sure what the buttons in the back are for, but they're real. The pockets are fake. The material is ribbed (might be considered corduroy?) and super super soft. Relatively warm too. It's a slightly orange tinged blood red in person.
