Sophisticated Art Deco Greek style Cake Plate Vintage Black Amethyst

This is a vintage L.E. Smith Black Amethyst glass serving plate with handles. L.E. Smith Glass Company. Black Amethyst (a deep purple that appears black). Produced between the 1920s and 1930s, during the Depression era. Art Deco. Scalloped edges, two handles, and silver overlay floral design. Serving plate for cakes, sandwiches, or other desserts This sophisticated Art Deco Greek style cake plate is a vintage 1930-1950s black amethyst depression glass piece. It was produced by Mt. Pleasant Glass Co for L.E. Smith. It features double handles and a scalloped edge, typical of Depression Era Elegant Glass. The plate is in excellent condition, and free of chips, cracks, or repairs. The sterling silver overlay shows some slight wear with some scratches. The design boasts a floral spray on two sides with a silver overlay and imperial-style handles.
